laws of exponents part1

We can expand an variable with a exponent.The exponent of the term y is y. X times x is x^2.It's not just x because it's not one x, it also has another x. So now it's x^2. Yes I'm noticing a pattern when I'm multiplying exponents.A general rule that I can device from my observation is when you have a exponent it's the same as it timing itself.

Hi Amanda;

From reading your blog i learned that we can expand any variable with a exponent.I did not clearly understand why the exponent of the term y is y.I also learned that a general rule that i can device from my observation is when you have a exponent its the same as it timing itself.
